Sarkuysan was founded by the gold dealers and jewellers of the Covered Bazaar, an important centre of commerce in Istanbul in 1972 to produce electrolytic copper products, Sarkuysan derives its name from the first syllables of the founders’ professions (SARraf: Gold dealer; KUYumcu: Jeweller; SANatkar: Artist).
The company has a special place in the history of industrialization of the country as the first successful publicly held corporation. The production plants of Sarkuysan are located in Gebze and Darıca, on the premises of an area of over 175.000 square metres and with a covered area of nearly 90.000 square meters where electrolytic copper products, copper tubes, copper bus bars and enameled winding wires are produced. The company increased annual production capacity to over 220.000 tonnes which was 10.000 tonnes at the initial stage.

DEMISAS A.S.
According to its growth strategy Demisas started to invest from 1990s and reached an annual capacity of more than 80.000 tons. As milestones of its growth challenges, Demisas started to produce refrigerator compressor parts in 1989, automotive parts in 1994, since 2001 highly sophisticated security brake parts, in 2010 heavy vehicle brake parts and in addition to the production of casting parts with the most advanced technologies, Demisas creates added value to its customer by supplying machined parts since 2012.
In the meantime, in 1997 Demisas decided to reinforce its market position by going public and since then its stocks are listed in Istanbul Stock Today together with the reputation and reliability, all the well known brand names of European automotive industry, OEMs and tier 1 suppliers started to make close cooperation with Demisas to have all grades of gray, ductile and CGI iron castings including high spectrum of brake and security parts.
